UK printer Print Evolved acquires VR Print
UK print industry journal Print Business reports Print Evolved has purchased photobook printer VR Print for an undisclosed sum. The move comes just seven months after Print Evolved acquired Mayfield Press.
The Tonbridge business is a good fit, says Print Evolved managing directorSpencer Slee, according to the article: “This is a friendly acquisition with benefits for all. VR Print is an extremely well-run, advanced technology company with a complementary offering to our own. Combining our resources will maximize operating efficiencies and together we will have a greater customer base, all of whom will be able to take advantage of the additional services available.”
These have focused on photobooks, on-demand books, web-to-print, and short-run project work for a range of clients which will complement the varied commercial and traditional print work that Print Evolved and Mayfield have offered, according to Print Business.
VR Print installed an automated case maker for this personalized books production, part of a £1 million investment in the last year. The business runs HP Indigo and Ricoh presses and has developed JIM portal software enabling customers to track the progress of their orders through the plant.
